What is your relationship status? Single
Do you have children or pets? Tell us about them! 2 cats - Luna and Quilla. They are 1 year old.
Where are you living? Where else have you lived? Currently living in Auburn, CA. Since HS, I've lived in San Diego, Sacramento, England, Scotland, Peru, and Washington DC.
What do you do for a living? Hospital Chaplain
What other jobs have you had? What was/is your favorite? I've worked as a church Youth Director, at a non-profit focused on youth and community service, at Big Brothers Big Sisters, and briefly as a bar tender at an Australian bar in Edinburgh. My favorite and most challenging role was as a volunteer for 2 years with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Andahuaylillas, Peru. I worked as an English teacher and then co-ran an after school food program where we fed over 300 kids daily.
What are you most proud of doing since graduating from high school? It took me a while to find my "calling," but I'm most proud I went to seminary and then completed a residency for health care chaplaincy at UC Davis Med Center. I now work at Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Carmichael.
What do you want to do but haven’t done yet? Visit India
What are your hobbies? How do you like to spend your free time? Hanging out with friends and family, hiking, reading, puzzles!
What are you currently watching/streaming on Netflix, Prime, HBO or Hulu, etc? And/or what are you currently reading? Watching: House of the Dragon, Never Have I Ever, Hocus Pocus 2. Reading: Flying Solo.
In what ways have you changed or stayed the same since high school? (for example: likes & dislikes, world views, etc. ) Same: I like to meet and learn about different people. Family is still very important to me. Changed: I feel I'm a more confident, grounded person.
Is there anything you miss or anything about which you reminisce about high school? When I think back on high school, I'm grateful for friends and the academic opportunities we had.
Do you have any favorite high school teachers or classes or after-school activities that have made a positive difference in your life? I really learned a lot from Mr. Newton's junior Integrated English & US History, and Senior AP English classes - prepared me for UCSD.
